Visibility in AI answers
How a company gets mentioned in ChatGPT answers
ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI answers name the companies whose pages they can find, read and quote. A place in the answer itself cannot be bought, but a page can be prepared for it. We do this with one method: measure what the assistants answer today, fix access and structure, write pages that answer buyers' questions, and measure again. On 27 September ChatGPT named the manufacturer PharmaEurope in none of 15 checked answers; on 12 October it named it in 13 answers out of 16. Our own directory NordSourced was named in 12 answers out of 16 twelve days after it opened.
What happened with PharmaEurope?
PharmaEurope manufactures food supplements under the client's brand (white label and private label) in the European Union. Until 21 September its website had empty pages and leftover dental-clinic text from a demo theme, and AI assistants did not name the company.
Since 5 October we measure eight questions a buyer asks when looking for a manufacturer. Each question goes to ChatGPT with web search twice. The baseline before the work is 15 ChatGPT answers tracked in OtterlyAI.
On 12 October pharmaeurope.eu was the most cited domain in ChatGPT's answers to these questions: 13 times, with the next competitors at 10 and 9. Google Gemini with search, on the same eight questions, did not name the company once on 27 September and named it in 8 answers out of 16 on 12 October. A repeat ChatGPT measurement the same day gave 12 of 16 on the same questions, and on four new questions about the new pages (drink cubes, longevity, mushrooms, a minimum order of 100 units) ChatGPT named the company in all 8 answers.
ChatGPT repeats the page's facts almost word for word: "white label from 100 units, private label from 500 bottles, from 2 weeks". These are exactly the numbers in the first paragraph of the home page.
| Date | Names PharmaEurope | pharmaeurope.eu among sources | First source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 27 Sep 2026 (before the work) | 0 of 15 (OtterlyAI tracking) | not measured | not measured |
| 29 Sep 2026 | first time | not measured | not measured |
| 5 Oct 2026 | 10 of 16 | 10 | 5 |
| 12 Oct 2026 | 13 of 16 | 13 | 8 |

Did more enquiries come in afterwards?
Yes. We count only enquiries from the website, the quote form and the AI assistant, with test and bot submissions removed. The source is the company's CRM.
To be honest about these numbers: the "before" week is the first week of the new website, not the old one. Some visitors came from Google Ads, and without an analytics counter organic, AI and paid traffic cannot be separated precisely. Two weeks is a short series.
| Week | Distinct clients | Via the form | Via the AI assistant |
|---|---|---|---|
| 21–27 Sep 2026 | 4 | 3 | 1 |
| 28 Sep – 4 Oct 2026 | 24 | 16 | 10 |
What exactly did we do?
The work started on 21 September. ChatGPT first named the company 8 days after the new site went live, and two weeks later it named it in 10 answers out of 16.
- 21 Sep. A new website: 26 pages in place of the empty ones, demo-theme leftovers closed with code 410, a new enquiry form.
- 22–24 Sep. Addresses in the buyers' words (
/capsule-manufacturing/,/minimum-order-quantity/), Organization, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList structured data, IndexNow, an ingredients hub with 34 categories, market pages. - 27 Sep. One main message across the site: "your brand from 2 weeks, from 100 units".
- 27–29 Sep. Pages for the products buyers search for: omega-3, mushrooms, longevity, drink cubes.
- Throughout: every page starts with a direct answer, numbers are in the text rather than in images, each page has 8–14 questions with answers.
What happened with NordSourced?
NordSourced is our own project: a directory of private label and contract manufacturers in Northern Europe (Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia), where each manufacturer's place in a list is calculated with one published formula. The site was built from day one to be quotable by AI: the answer in the heading and the first lines, a comparison table, a source for every fact. It has been public since 30 September 2026.
On 12 October 2026, twelve days after opening, we asked eight buyer questions, each twice. For "how to find a private label manufacturer in the Baltics" and "contract manufacturers Northern Europe private label" ChatGPT named nordsourced.com as the first source both times and recommended starting the search there.
Across all measurements nordsourced.com was the most cited domain: 18 times, with the next platform, wonnda.com, at 10. Where it is not yet: Finnish supplement and Lithuanian furniture manufacturers, where ChatGPT names the manufacturers themselves.
| Assistant | Names NordSourced | nordsourced.com among sources | First source |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT with web search | 12 of 16 | 12 of 16 | 6 |
| Gemini with Google Search | 0 of 16 | 6 of 16 | 2 |

What happened with hybridenergy.lt?
hybridenergy.lt is a Lithuanian online store for solar panels, generators and heat pumps. After moving it to a new platform we added buyer guides such as "how to choose a generator for your home" and "what to know before buying a heat pump".
In Google Search Console's "Generative AI features" report for 28 July to 10 October 2026: 4.82 thousand impressions in AI answers out of 19.3 thousand in total, that is 25%. Seven of the ten pages with the most AI impressions are buyer guides: choosing a home generator 670, choosing a solar system 391, a generator together with a solar system 386. The other three are two product categories and the home page.
The conclusion we carry to every client: the pages that most often get into AI answers are the ones that answer the buyer's question before the purchase.

How does ChatGPT decide whom to name?
When a question needs fresh information, ChatGPT searches the web, Gemini and Google's AI answers take pages from Google's index, and Copilot from Bing's. The assistant does not read a page as a whole: it takes separate passages that answer the question directly and cites the sources it took the facts from. That defines what a page needs.
- Access. AI search crawlers (OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot and others) must not be blocked in robots.txt or at server level. We check this in the free consultation.
- The answer in the first paragraph. If the answer is hidden on the third screen or in an image, the assistant does not see it.
- Numbers in the text. Minimum order, lead time, languages. An empty cell in a comparison means someone else gets quoted.
- Questions with answers and structured data that matches the visible text.
- A page for each buyer question, not one "about us" page.
- The words buyers search with, not the company's internal names.
The seven reasons ChatGPT does not name a company, and how to check each one yourself, are in our article Why ChatGPT doesn't recommend you. The difference between SEO, AEO and GEO is explained in AEO vs GEO vs SEO.
What is our method, step by step?
Seven steps, each with its own check. The first and the last are the same measurement, so the result shows up in numbers rather than impressions.
| Step | What we do | How we check |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Measurement | 8–12 buyer questions to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, each twice; Google "Generative AI" and Bing "AI Performance" reports | A table: named, cited, in which place |
| 2. Access | AI crawlers, robots.txt, sitemap, IndexNow | Every crawler gets the page with code 200 |
| 3. Pages with answers | The answer in the first paragraph, numbers, tables, 8–14 questions with answers | The page answers the question without scrolling |
| 4. Data for machines | Organization, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList; llms.txt for other AI assistants (Google does not require it) | Validation without errors |
| 5. Links | A hub page and links between pages and articles | Every page reachable in 2 clicks |
| 6. Beyond the website | Directories and platforms AI already cites in your industry | Profiles with the same facts |
| 7. Repeat measurement | The same questions after 1–2 weeks | A "before" and "after" table |
ChatGPT ads or a place in the answer?
Since 31 August 2026 you can also advertise in ChatGPT in Latvia: the minimum daily budget for a euro account is 15 EUR, and only Free and Go users see the ads. An ad is a block below the answer; the answer itself cannot be bought.
We set up both: a page the assistant quotes, and ads for the questions where the buyer is on the free plan. More about the ads: ChatGPT ads in Latvia.
How much does it cost?
The price is on request. It depends on how many pages need to be rewritten or written, in how many languages, and whether you also need ChatGPT ads. We name the price after a free 90-minute consultation, in which we look together at what ChatGPT answers to your buyers' questions today.
In the first week of work you get the measurement: what ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answer to your buyers' questions, which companies they name and which pages they cite. And a list of what to change on your website first.

Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will name us?
No. Answers change from run to run, and nobody who works honestly gives that guarantee. We guarantee a before-and-after measurement with the same questions, so the result is visible in numbers.
How fast does the result appear?
ChatGPT first named PharmaEurope 8 days after the new site went live, and two weeks later in 10 answers out of 16. NordSourced was named in 12 answers out of 16 twelve days after opening.
Is a good Google ranking enough?
Not always. Google's AI answers take pages from Google's index, but ChatGPT searches the web itself and through search partners, and needs a page from which it can take a specific fact.
How is this different from SEO?
SEO competes for a place in a list. Here the competition is about whether the assistant takes your fact and names you in the answer. The foundation is shared, but the page needs direct answers, numbers and questions with answers.
How can I check whether ChatGPT names us?
Ask ChatGPT 5–10 questions your buyer would ask, with search on, each twice. You can also use our free check, which shows what AI can read on your page.
Do we need to change the whole website?
Not always. Often it is enough to fix access, rewrite the first paragraphs and add 5–10 new pages that answer buyers' questions.
Does it work in Latvian, Lithuanian or Estonian?
Yes. Assistants answer in the language of the question and usually look for pages in the same language.
Who is this not for?
If buyers choose only by personal recommendation, or decisions in your industry are made through tenders, AI answers have little influence. We say so in the first conversation.
How much does appearing in ChatGPT answers cost?
The price is on request: it depends on the number of pages, the languages and whether you also need ChatGPT ads. We name it after a free 90-minute consultation.
Can you advertise in ChatGPT in Latvia?
Yes, since 31 August 2026. The minimum daily budget is 15 EUR, and only Free and Go users see the ads.
What do you measure?
In how many answers out of all your company is named, how often your page is among the sources and in which place, and which competitors the assistant names instead of you.
